SkilledWorkers.com teams with Habitat for Humanity

Canada’s leading job board for skilled tradespeople, skilledworkers.com, has teamed with the Gulf Recover Effort project of Habitat for Humanity, allowing H4H unlimited job postings and limitless database access in its recruitment efforts. This effort will allow Habitat for Humanity to find the skilled individuals it needs to help build homes for the many who are still without shelter two years after the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina.

Gus Klemos, the founder and CEO of SKilledWorkers.com noted, “Because Habitat for Humanity is an organization whose work has improved the quality of life for so many people around the world, we are proud to partner with it and those involved in the continuing efforts to rebuild the homes and lives of Hurricane Katrina survivors.”

For many years, Habitat for Humanity has been committed to giving long-term affordable housing to families facing homelessness. Habitat for Humanity has received funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service to recruit, transport and house skilled construction volunteers from across the country to help with the enormous rebuilding effort in the areas devastated by the 2005 disaster. Currently, five partners similar to SkilledWorkers.com are recruiting 50 volunteers in Mississippi and Louisiana. Workers are deployed on a basis anywhere from one month to twelve months.
